Retro Influences

In recent months, wedding and event styling has been drawing influence from the 70’s more than ever before. We’re not talking about paisley prints, but you can definitely expect to see more retro-inspired colours such as mustard, dusty pink, burnt orange, earthy terracotta and striking papaya when it comes to florals, decor, bridesmaid gowns and wedding day details. It’s all about warm, vibrant pops of colour and balancing retro influences with a modern approach.

When it comes to your furniture selections, be inspired by soft curves and mid-century styles – think luxe velvets, rich metallics and deep timber tones. Achieve this look by mixing our Indie, Soho and Velvet collections together for a modern eclectic feel, and complete the look with some retro neon signs and whimsical blooms!

Classic Glamour

Following months of staying indoors and lounging around on the couch in your trackies (thanks, COVID!), couples and their guests will want to go all-out for 2021 weddings.

We’re expecting a return to classic glamour with a timeless palette of crisp white paired with gold, silver or copper. Create a polished, meticulously styled table with crystal-cut glassware, luxe votives and statement charger plates to elevate the dining experience. Transform the room with our classic white bentwoods or Soho dining chairs for a glamorous meets sophisticated look. Perfect for clear marquee weddings underneath strings of glittering fairy lights, crystal chandeliers or gold pendants!

Eco-Friendly Weddings

Eco-friendly decisions will be front-of-mind for weddings in 2021 and beyond. Think: biodegradable confetti, gourmet menus highlighting fresh local produce, and wild arrangements of seasonal flowers. Opt to hire your furniture, decor and tableware rather than purchasing brand new, and try to stay away from single-use plastics throughout your event.

When it comes to sustainable styling, keep things minimal with a few pieces of high-impact decor (for example, a statement bar area, beautiful dining chairs and lush hanging installations) rather than creating “clutter” with lots of smaller decorations.

Lilac Tones

We’re loving statement shades of lilac for weddings and events in 2021! Use this dusty purple hue sparingly as an accent colour throughout your florals, stationery, signage and linens to create softness without becoming overpowering. Pair with fresh whites, timbers and pastel tones such as blush, peach and apricot – or, create contrast against vibrant reds and pinks for a bold, modern look.

Micro-Weddings

With COVID wreaking havoc on guest numbers in 2020, micro-weddings are having their moment in 2021. Think: intimate dinners under the stars, or boozy long lunches at a dreamy location.

When it comes to small weddings, detail is everything! Micro-weddings are all about creating an epic experience for your guests, so take some extra care to create a personalised tablescape that immerses your loved ones. Get creative with your place cards, menus and centrepieces to make each place setting feel extra special.

Coastal Luxe

2021 will see more coastal-inspired settings but with a luxe, elevated approach. Natural textures like dried palm fronds, rattans and earthy timbers will be paired with subtle nautical accents and elegant details. Think: clam shells spilling with soft flowers, seashells adorned with beautiful calligraphy, and beaded chandeliers strung above a coastal-inspired tablescape.

Keep your colour palette neutral with organic shades of white, nudes, sandy taupes and soft blues to mimic the ocean, and create a luxe feel with pops of gold and blush. For cocktail styling, our Dune lounges, timber dry bars, white bentwood stools and market umbrellas will help you bring together the perfect coastal setting!

Signature Cocktails

It’s safe to say couples and their loved ones will be ready to party in 2021, so why not set the scene with a signature cocktail? Create an epic bar display complete with a statement backdrop, custom signage and beautiful glassware serving up your favourite specialty drink. French martinis, watermelon margaritas, Amaretto sours or a crisp Aperol Spritz – the options are endless (and we’re 100% here for it!).
