When the bride and groom describe their wedding day as ‘heaven’, you know they must be on to a good thing! Karina and Karl celebrated their nuptials at The Farm in Byron Bay for a gorgeous spring wedding. With 80 acres of lush greenery and picturesque scenery at the venue, it was the perfect backdrop for their relaxed and fun-filled day.
We were lucky enough to play a small role in their celebrations, supplying a modern selection of furniture and decor to bring their vision of an earthy and romantic setting to life. Working with a team of talented creatives, Karina and Karl also included plenty of personal touches throughout the day – creating their own favours, stationery, signage and backdrops by hand (with a pretty impressive end result!).
An intimate, organic ceremony in the orchard was created using natural timber bench seats and an incredible round arbour adorned with greenery and blooms. As the sun went down over the Farm, guests celebrated the night away in a warm reception twinkling with festoons and glowing candlelight. Rustic wine barrels, bentwood stools and relaxed bamboo lounge furniture all helped to create an inviting ambience for guests to enjoy during the evening.

What was the feel and style of your wedding: Romantic, “orchard-chic” and green.
Describe your wedding day: Our wedding day felt like heaven! The weather was perfection – Byron Bay turned it on for us! The Farm was a terrific venue for our relaxed, earthy vibe. Our ceremony in the orchard was so romantic, with moody light and lots of green.
The reception was filled with delicious food, great company, plenty of good tunes and champagne. Candlelight, wood, soft florals with a hint of citrus and the Chilli Peppers (Love Rollercoaster!) to welcome us in- what a blast!
Where did you find your inspiration for your wedding day: I took snippets from all over- mostly Hello May, White Magazine and Pinterest of course 🙂
Where was your wedding venue and why did you choose them: The Farm – the vibe, the food and the service are all amazing.
Who was your photographer and why did you choose them: Kate Holmes – she is a genius! Her work is moody and real, we love our photos!
Who was your florist and why did you choose them: My beautiful friend Emma Weekes (@em_weekes) who was 7.5 months pregnant at the time and she spent a whole day on the round arbour with another friend Steph! She’s not a professional but you wouldn’t believe that looking at the pics!
What was your experience like planning your wedding: I loved it- but all the vendors were a dream, Stephanie at The Farm is amazing to deal with and our families are both very chilled. I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Who was your videographer and why did you choose them: Harley Jones- he’s a very talented ex-student of mine and he’s incredible! He was assisted by another ex-student (Aidan Marshall) and they were great on the day (though they called me Miss the whole time haha)
How did you manage your budget: ….We didn’t. Haha, we spent a lot of money but it was all worth it. I also did A LOT myself (favours- wooden coasters and mum’s marmalade), poured about 110 candles, made all the signage and invitations and photo displays, AND we made the round arbour!
Where did you source your hire items from and why: You guys! Because your styling items are modern and on trend- thank you!
Do you have any tips for other brides: Stay calm on the day! We spent the day drinking moderate amounts of champagne, listening to good music, a walk on the beach, and plenty of laughs. Don’t stress over things that are outside your control!
If you could do it all over again, is there anything you would change: Not a thing : )
