We recently asked some of our favourite local stylists for their predictions on wedding styling trends to expect in 2019 (catch up right here if you missed it!). After hearing their insight, it’s safe to say we have a pretty amazing year ahead with some beautiful weddings being dreamed up as we speak.
This week, we’re sharing our own predictions when it comes to furniture and decor trends for weddings in 2019. Your wedding furniture and decor will play a huge role in bringing your wedding styling vision to life, creating ambience and atmosphere for your event, and keeping your guests happy, relaxed and comfortable.
If you’re currently planning your 2019 wedding, keep reading for our top 5 picks when it comes to furniture and decor trends for the year ahead along with some beautiful inspiration to get you started!
EARTHY HUES & RICH VELVETS
If the popularity of our new Indie collection is anything to go by, expect to see more rich earthy tones and bold velvet hues in 2019 for wedding furniture and decor styling.
2019 will be all about layering statement earthy colours like emerald, dusty rose, amber, rust, burnt orange, mustard and terracotta, complemented with natural textures and rich velvet finishes. We love this look complemented with dried florals, patterned textiles and luxe gold accents. If you’re looking to introduce a pop of colour into your wedding in a more subtle and modern way, this look is perfect for you.
MODERN COASTAL
With so many beautiful beachfront venues to take advantage of across the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast and Byron Bay, we’re seeing more couples opting for modern coastal settings influenced by their surroundings.
When it comes to coastal styling, 2019 will be about keeping things light, relaxed, elegant and refined. Think lots of fresh whites, natural textures like cane and rattan, gold accents, dried foliage and statement sofa settings, like our new Dune gazebos and modular lounges.
SCANDINAVIAN STYLING
We’re also feeling inspired by all things Scandinavian styling when it comes to wedding furniture, colours and decor – think clean lines, earthy timbers, pale greys and tan leathers complemented with sage greens, whites and soft pastels.
It’s all about paring things back and drawing inspiration from home interiors to create a minimal, simplistic setting with a focus on beautiful statement pieces that make an impact.
CLASSIC HAMPTONS
For a more sophisticated approach to wedding furniture in 2019, we’re loving classic Hamptons-inspired designs in a black and white palette. This look is perfect for a timeless, elegant soiree, complemented with fresh white and green accents for a truly classic setting. Be inspired by our new Hamptons collection in black and white when it comes to pulling this look together!
STATEMENT BACKDROPS
And finally, we’re expecting statement backdrops and structures to continue playing a huge role in 2019 wedding styling – the bolder, the better. 2019 will be big on backdrops; from ceremony styling to photo backdrops or key pieces throughout your reception. It’s all about creating personalised focal points and adding a unique touch into your wedding – we’re predicting more creative backdrop installations (check out our newest backdrops right here) complete with custom signage, quirky neons and lush florals.
It’s shaping up to be a pretty amazing year of weddings and events in 2019, and we can’t wait to help you bring your celebration to life.
