We regularly service weddings on the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast and Byron Bay right down to Yamba and Coffs Harbour, and always love seeing our couples draw inspiration from their beautiful coastal surroundings when planning and styling their big day.
Coastal wedding styling doesn’t have to mean going overboard with nautical theming. Instead, we’re fans of a more elegant, modern and understated coastal look, to reflect our stunning seaside location.

Coastal Wedding Venues
If you haven’t already chosen your wedding venue, this is something you’ll want to consider first to help you bring your coastal celebration to life. It goes without saying that coastal or beach-inspired styling elements might not work so well in an industrial warehouse space or fancy ballroom!
When we think about the perfect venue for a coastal wedding, we think about light, airy spaces, white and timber tones, glass windows and waterfront views. A coastal venue will make it much easier to achieve your desired look without having to go overboard with additional styling. A few favourites that come to mind for a coastal wedding include Ancora, Kirra Hill Community Centre, Salt Village Kingscliff, Elements of Byron and Beach Byron Bay.

Coastal Colours and Textures
Before you move forward with furniture and decor selections, consider the kind of colours and textures you want to incorporate throughout your coastal wedding styling.
A coastal colour palette is one of our absolute favourites! When styling a coastal wedding, think about fresh, natural tones like crisp whites, pale timber, taupe, beige and dove grey. Accent colours like navy, teal, duck egg blue, dusty rose, mustard and blush can also work perfectly for a coastal-inspired wedding, along with a subtle hint of gold, bronze or silver for a more luxe look.
And when it comes to textures, focus on mixing natural materials like rattan, bamboo, seagrass and soft linens to create beautiful, interesting layers throughout your styling.

Coastal Furniture and Decor
Now let’s talk about decking out your coastal wedding! We like to keep things elegant yet relaxed when suggesting furniture and decor items to achieve a modern coastal setting. Anything in white, bamboo, linen, timber and rattan will generally work perfectly for a coastal look, but luxe materials like marble, wire and velvet can also help to create a more refined setting. Remember, white is usually the hero colour for coastal styling, so use white as your base and then build on this with other elements.
For a more relaxed, low-key coastal reception, we love our wooden feasting tables, white bentwood chairs and rattan charger plates with navy, blush or dove grey linen napkins. Both our Bahamas and Dune collections are perfect for coastal cocktail styling, featuring rattan, bamboo and seagrass elements with white linen cushions. Complete the look with layered textiles in subtle coastal tones, or even a pop of colour using our velvet ottomans.

For a more elegant and refined coastal look, we also love our white Soho dining chairs paired with classic white dinner plates, gold or silver cutlery and crystal glassware. Our Icelandic white marble dry bars, Icelandic wire stools, Soho cocktail collection, Herringbone bar and white Soho backdrops also work beautifully for contemporary coastal styling.
Natural accessories like woven baskets, clam shells, seashells, coral, hurricane lanterns and statement basket lighting will help to tie all of the styling together, so don’t forget to decorate your service bars and coffee tables with some coastal-inspired decor, too. For floral design, sustainably sourced pampas grass, trailing orchids and dried foliage arrangements are the perfect complement to coastal styling.
