Style Guide: Wild Bohemian Wedding Styling Ideas and Inspiration!

Inspired by some of our favourite recent shoots and real weddings, our Wild Bohemian style guide is all about organic textures, rich earthy hues, untamed florals and luxe, eclectic details. We’re currently loving this unstructured yet elegant look for free-spirited couples wanting to create a less formal, boho-inspired feel for their day.

Wild bohemian styling is ideal for outdoor Tipi settings, clear marquee receptions or unique blank canvas venues – the possibilities are endless!

Wild Bohemian: Colour Palette

We love to draw inspiration from natural, organic sources when it comes to choosing colours and tones for a Wild Bohemian wedding. Earthy timbers and neutral tones pair perfectly with rich hues of amber, terracotta, ochre, mustard, sage and olive, complemented with dusty rose, blush and other soft pastels.

Start with a neutral base of warm browns and deep timbers, and build on this with accent colours through your cushions, textiles, accessories and floral styling. Try to stay away from too much crisp white which could throw out the balance – use your pastel tones or even ivory and off-whites instead to lighten things up.

Wild Bohemian: Furniture + Decor

Interesting textures and natural materials are everything for a Wild Bohemian-inspired setting! Mix and match different pieces in timber, rattan, bamboo and natural linen with more luxe metallics or even wire details for an eclectic, elegant look.

For bohemian-inspired ceremony styling, we love our natural timber bench seats or oak cross back chairs paired with a statement backdrop adorned with wild florals and foliage. Our natural peacock chairs are ideal for ceremony signing, and can be re-purposed through to your reception, too.

Create an eclectic cocktail setting by mixing and matching unexpected pieces together, using your accent colours and textiles to tie everything together. Our new Dune lounges work beautifully with our grey jute rugs and rich velvet cushions for a statement sofa area, while our round timber dry bars can be contrasted with our gold wire Icelandic stools or walnut bentwoods.

For reception styling, our timber feasting tables, oak cross backs or walnut bentwood chairs will give you the perfect neutral base – or, use our Gold soho dining chairs for something more luxe and refined. Layer your tablescapes with mixed materials and elegant details like our rattan charger plates, blush linen napkins, gold cutlery and amber glassware (see the stunning Ardeena Open Day tablescape from our friends at JJ Style Co for inspiration!).

Wild Bohemian: Floral Design

Keep your floral styling wild and untamed for a boho-inspired wedding, with plenty of textural details, visual layers and rich pops of colour. We love statement dried foliage, sustainably sourced pampas grass, magnolia, orchids and anthuriums in pale pastels to soften the look.

For table arrangements, style your florals in amber bottles, concrete bowls or metallic vases (or mix all three!) – the more eclectic, the better. Statement ceiling installations or creative backdrops and structures are also beautiful focal features for a Wild Bohemian wedding – we love a lush floral ceremony arbour or photo booth backdrop.

Wild Bohemian: Styling Details

To tie your look together, continue to add interesting textures and layers throughout the finer details of your setting. Think woven basket lights, gold pendants, boho-inspired stationery and paper details, hand-dyed silk ribbons on your bouquet, layered rugs, warm candlelight and Moroccan lanterns.
