As most of you know, the upcoming race days are going to look a little different to how they did last year. This year, we are celebrating winter carnival in the comfort of our own homes. Usually we would all be lining up waiting to place our bets on the horses and wining and dining at the luxury VIP areas at our local racing clubs. This is why; we are going to bring the VIP area to you! Here are some tips on how to host the ultimate race day at home.

First things first, invite your friends and family over (sticking within the social distancing guidelines of course). You can’t host the ultimate race day alone. Take a moment and figure out what you can do to style up your home and make it a grand VIP space. Have your champagne glasses out ready to go for your guests on arrival and most importantly, make sure you have enough seating options for everyone.
Next, ask your friends to each bring a dish for everyone to enjoy or even better, support your favourite local restaurant and order some yummy food! You could even get a little creative and put together a deluxe grazing board for your guests. Who doesn’t love a good grazing board? It is so easy to do, only takes a few ingredients and voila, you’re done.
Have a laugh and place a bet on your favourite horse! It doesn’t have to be an “official” bet. You could even do it Melbourne Cup style and have a sweepstake with your friends and family. This is a great way to get everyone involved and engaged in the races. Who knows what luck you may have!
Lastly, we have been isolation for so long so why not dress up! Put on your best dress and choose out a fascinator to match. This will be the perfect coming out of quarantine party and what a great excuse to get out of those sweat pants and put on a pair of heels.
