Mark and Bena recently celebrated their day at one of our favourite Byron Bay wedding venues, Deux Belettes. With a picturesque backdrop of stone walls, manicured gardens and French chateau romance, their intimate marquee wedding was packed with dreamy florals and a timeless neutral palette of greys, blush, timber and gold.

We were lucky enough to work alongside the talented Hayley Cravigan from HC Styles to deck out this stunning Byron Bay celebration, with our oak cross back chairs, peacock chairs, Geo backdrop and French linen sofa furniture sitting pretty in the Deux Belettes garden. Think classic, modern and romantic styling executed with elegance and simplicity!

Describe your wedding day: For us, it was like a fairytale. We had so much fun celebrating our love with our dearest friends and family at the most breathtaking venue. Wish we could do it all again. We just loved how everything came together.

What was the feel and style of your wedding? Relaxed / cocktail sort of vibe, everyone was just happy and enjoying themselves. The style you could say was vintage with a touch of boho and modern with a blush colour palette.

Where did you find your inspiration for your wedding day? Mainly Instagram, following and searching wedding pages.

Where was your wedding venue and why did you choose them: Deux Belettes. We looked at a few venues, but once we visited Deux Belettes we couldn’t look back. It was just breathtaking – the calm tranquility and beauty of the architecture was just amazing. We fell in love with it, it’s just so different to any other venue. I’m from Europe so it was an amazing feeling getting married somewhere that felt like we were there.

What was your experience like planning your wedding: Planning a wedding definitely isn’t stress free. It took a lot of time and energy searching blogs and inspiration on Instagram. Probably doesn’t help being a perfectionist and overthinking everything haha, but it was so much fun and I just loved seeing it all come to life on the day. It was so beautiful and all the vendors did an amazing job, including my planner.

Tell us about some of your suppliers and why you chose them:

Photography: Amelia Fullarton, just loved her work and the fact she knew the venue. She did an amazing job.

Planning:  Hayley Cravigan – because she knows the venue really well, was lovely and was affordable.

Catering: 100 Mile Table – loved their menu and pricing. Food was amazing, and they were lovely down to earth people

Flowers: Wilderness Flowers – I followed their Instagram and loved their style.

Cake: Byron Bay Cake Boutique – we had sticky date pudding cake and it was delicious. Loved her style and the cake was adorable.

What were the highlights on the day:  The ceremony – saying our vows out loud just felt so emotional and magical. And feeling the love from listening to the speeches which were so touching. We also had so much dancing the night away with our friends and family and being able to relax. The champagne tower was a lot of fun too!

How did you manage your budget:  I created a spreadsheet and kept track of it so I didn’t go crazy.

Do you have any tips for other couples: Don’t leave everything until the last minute, and have a very clear list of photos you want. Spend a little extra on things you think will matter, but don’t go crazy depending on your budget. And most importantly – relax on the day and take in every moment and just go with the flow. That’s what we did 🙂
