Dimity: Senior Account Manager

Dimity has an extensive background in the fast-paced world of events, with her career taking her from corporate sales and operations roles right through to the Commonwealth Games.

In her spare time, you’ll find Dimity travelling and exploring countries off the beaten track, soaking up live music, and competing in show jumping and eventing with her 3 horses Brownie, Rocky and Storm.

Dimity, what is your favourite piece in the HEH range? Actually our newest piece! The Linear Structures. I love how unique and interchangeable they are and how they look great all placed together, too. Keep an eye out on our socials over the coming days as all will be revealed very soon!

What has been your favourite event to work on? After 3.5 years with HEH there are just too many to choose from! I’ve been a part of large scale corporate events and super special intimate weddings and both are my favourite for different reasons. The most memorable would have to be working on the events for Daydream Islands relaunch.

What is your best piece of advice for someone planning an event? Always have a wet weather plan, make your plan B just as good as your plan A to avoid disappointment. Be patient with yourself, ask lots of questions so you can gather plenty of information. Don’t leave it until the last minute and lock in the most important and most popular things you want for your event/wedding so you don’t miss out on anything.

What is your advice for someone wanting to get into the wedding and events industry? Get involved on the ground on event days via volunteering or assistant jobs where you can learn from the best, get your foot in the door and learn different areas of the industry to figure out which you like the best.

What’s the best thing about working for HEH? The people and the clients we get to work with. The variety too, every day is different with a vast range of events we work on.

Dannielle: Client Account Manager

Doing the hard yards in the world of hospitality for the last 13 years, Danni loves every aspect of working behind the scenes on a range of exciting events.

Danni is our go to music festival guru and live music is her jam – whether it’s a gig at the local pub or the main stage at a festival. Throw in some Mexican food and Margis and you have one happy gal!

Danni, what is your favourite piece in the HEH range? The White Wire Round Service Bar or Havana Collection because they are both quirky and fun

What has been your favourite event to work on? ISLA X Splendour Pre Party event – I love all things festivals and music events so this one alines with my passions

What is your best piece of advice for someone who’s planning an event? Start with a vision board to clarify exactly what look and vibe you’re going for. Book all the big “Must Have” items first – the items your event wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t have.

What is your advice for someone wanting to get into the wedding and events industry?

Volunteer at events! The best way to gain experience and an understanding on what the events industry entails is to volunteer.  Reach out to events, planners etc and ask if you could volunteer your time –  in my experience, a lot of them will say yes as you can always use an extra set of hands. This work often leads to paid work.

What’s the best thing about working for HEH? The team and the culture.

Ebony: Client Account Manager

Living on picturesque Hamilton Island for the last 3 years working on weddings and events, Ebony recently made the move south to join the HEH family. With a Diploma in Event Management plus on the job experience with planning and styling, Ebony brings a fresh new energy to our team!

When she’s not working, you’ll find Ebony soaking up the sunshine on our glorious Gold Coast beaches, exploring the local markets or spending time with friends.

Ebony, what is your favourite piece in the HEH range? Our Havana Swing. It goes with lots of different events and styles, it adds such a fun aspect to any event space and is perfect for happy snaps!

What has been your favourite event to work on? Spell & Co Bluesfest 2022 Stall – Working with the Spell & Co team was a great experience! I had the opportunity to go onsite for the bump-in where we created a really fun lounge space with our Havana Collection and White Wire Round Service Bar for a silent disco.

What is your best piece of advice for someone who’s planning an event? Find and decide on key items and suppliers you wish to include in your event, from here you’ll be able to piece together all of your other requirements a little easier.

What is your advice for someone wanting to get into the wedding and events industry? Don’t stress if you’re unsure of a particular area you want to work in, the events industry can lead you down any path imaginable!

What’s the best thing about working for HEH? Being able to contribute to the look and feel of amazing events and for some, the most important and eagerly-awaited day of their lives.
